#8. Things I love...
Sharing some household-ish items that I am loving lately on love day, xo
Happy Valentine’s Friday! I hope your heart is feeling light, warm and fuzzy today. In lieu of one of my favourite holiday non-holidays (I’m a pisces — BIG on the romance), I thought I’d share a few things that I am loving lately. This list was a delight to put together. It reminded me that life is all about the summation of simple pleasures, from a cute antique butter dish to illustrated oracle cards.
Most of these companies are Canadian as well, which I know local Canadian businesses need some extra love, now more than ever.
I’m curious to hear what little things are you loving these days. It doesn’t have be tangible things, it could be your morning routine or sending daily morning voice notes to your best friend. Whatever it is, I wanna hear it! Love is all around!

Messengers from the Great Bear Oracle Cards created by Sarah Hammond & Brenda Holmes.
I still have yet to pull the spirit bear card!
My favourite wool blankets, which are unfortunately not sold anymore…
BUT they can be found at Anupaya Cabin Co. They have two winterized cabins available to book that are pure bliss. If live in the Ottawa Valley area or want to visit, definitely consider booking your stay.
Thought this was fitting to include… my prairie friend made me a set of beautiful speckled glazed mugs with a little custom touch. She’s currently taking a break from pottery as she is a mama of two little babes but you can find her here.
The plus about working with local artists is that you can play and customize with pieces, it’s a more personal experience than buying off the shelf. Another local ceramicist in Vancouver who actually used to share a studio space with Sarah is Kat — definitely worth checking her out here
Like I said I love Anupaya’s recycled wool blankets… but this is actually paying homage to THE couch. The Sunday’s Movie Night Sofa feels like its name. It’s a household (& guest) favourite. We have the 2-piece Large Modular Sofa and the slip covers are so easy to clean and remove — it’s perfect.
One of my favourite things from our family cottage at Katepwa Lake. I’m so happy my mom gave me this butter dish when they sold the cottage last summer. I remember picking this out and loving it at first sight.
If you are ever in Indian Head, Saskatchewan … do not leave without paying a visit to The Sinking Canoe. It is the best antique store I’ve ever been to with very reasonable prices. Plus you’ll be greeted by Mario, who is an absolute gem!
The best kind of mail delivery. I love the attention to detail and courtesy that local businesses have with their customers… a hand written note, c’mon.
The Found Studio showcases beautiful vintage furnishings and objects that have been refurbished. I’ll definitely be visiting their showroom when I’m in Victoria next. Make sure to subscribe to their newsletter to receive updates on new collection pieces, sales and more!
Skip the roses and purchase unique bouquets from La Floreria in downtown Vancouver. The perfect pit stop to make after work. It may look like a small shop but there is so much pretty to see (and they usually have deals on Friday!)
Much love to you all, xo
Thank you so, so much for including some OG Anupaya gear!!! 🥹🥹🥹
